I have been teaching swimming lessons with great success for over 18 years, instructing thousands of students while working at a variety of reputable establishments, including: a well known swim company on Long Island, a Hampton's beach club, a day camp, and countless private pools across Eastern Long Island. Furthermore, I have worked as a Red Cross Swim Program Coordinator, overseeing and advising other instructors on how to achieve and deliver the best swim lessons possible.

Red Cross Certifications:

Water Safety Instructor
Pool Lifeguard
Waterfront Lifeguard
First Aid for the Professional Rescuer
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

I learned to swim when I was 6 months old, beginning with participation in Infant Swimming Resource programs and later advancing to Red Cross and private lessons. It is this unique exposure to several teaching styles that has allowed me to create my own custom lessons that combine the best of ALL worlds.

I began snorkeling in the Florida Keys every summer at just 18 months! Later, at age 10, the youngest age allowed, I became a certified SCUBA diver. Since then, I have participated in an environmental protection organization called "REEF", where I survey the coral reef ecosystem for present fish species.

In 1997, I joined a year round competitive swim team, and was an active participant through 2007. I excelled in both varsity and year round swimming, and competed in competitions such as Counties and Silvers. While studying abroad in Chile, I swam for the Universidad Catolica, and qualified for an international competition in Argentina with my backstroke.

In 2000, I was able to combine my love for the water with dancing and team work by joining a Synchronized Swim Team. With Long Island Synchro, I won countless metals in zone and regional championships, and even competed at the National level. I competed in the Empire State Games in 2004, and brought home a silver metal for our team routine.

In 2009, I joined the James Madison University water polo team. This afforded me the opportunity to continue swimming, while making friends at the same time! Two years later, I graduated Cum Laude from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Integrated Science and Technology, with a concentration in Health Science & Medical Biotechnology.

I am a complete water enthusiast in every aspect of my life. In my spare time I can be found boating, fishing, kayaking or sailing. I also love to participate in water sports such as knee boarding, water skiing, and SCUBA diving.

In the off season, I live with my husband and our 3 animals in Richmond, VA. In addition to teaching swim lessons, I am an Assistant Vice President managing a team of Business Development Representatives for a commercial insurance carrier.
